How to Counter 2 Healer Group in Albion Arena Mode?

With the releasing of Joseph Update, we can play the Arena Mode - the newly added mode for 5v5 battles with a capture point mechanic. But if you join the Arena as a solo player or even build a group, you will still find that it's hard to counter 2 Healer groups.

 

The problem isnt so much the 2 healers, its that primarily 2 healer groups happen with premade groups vs pugs. I've explained this numerous times.

The problem in reality isnt the 2 healer meta, its the queue mechanic of Arena allowing PUGs to mix with Premades. PUGs lack the synergy and coordination to deal with 2 healers in most cases. Not always, as sometimes you get a team that knows how to deal with it, the 1 of the 2 healers is undergeared, or your team synergy just randomly happens to counter it but in most cases, either way, the game is drawn out some battles lasting 10 minutes per round (that per 3 stones being capped).

 

How to Counter 2 Healer Group in Albion Arena Mode?

 

The arena (IMO) is not a gvg training simulator, its a place where those in guilds that own no territory, or small guilds primarily, that do not get to take part in gvg to be able to experience a similar combat style. If they want it to be a gvg simulator, they need to seperate the 2 queues and only allow premades vs premades and then allow whatever group mix people want to run. In a PUG (solo queue) then they need to limit the 2 healer meta. First off it slows matches down significantly causing longer wait times for others in the solo queue. Second, as explained, PUGs cant often deal with 2 healers, it is pretty much a guaranteed long, drawn out win and as there is pretty much stuff all reward from an arena, there is not a whole lot of point doing it but some people need to win at all costs and so will "abuse" a broken system.

 

Anecdotal Example; I've seen people signing up to the arena queue naked, so that their gear score is Zero on the scoreboard, and you can't see what they are wearing pre-match. Then you run out to find them in t7/t8 and multi Healing. This is abusing the mechanic, its not really their fault because its not "illegal" to do it, but its bad sportsmanship for one, and second its bad matchmaking mechanic that needs to be resolved.

 

Technically a premade could queue 5 healers, and I could tell you exactly what would happen, the other team would just afk because it would be boring AF and drawn out and better just to get the match over with and queue again for a more interesting fight. This shouldnt be the arena mechanic.

 

The 2 healer meta in arena is a symptom of poor matchmaking mechanic, not the fact that 2 healers is all that OP (it is circumstantial, 2 healer meta is OP premade vs PUG in arena)
